As our Spring Break comes to an end this Friday, March 27, I wanted to provide you some important information about school closures and our transition to online/distance learning. MPUSD Preschool Meal Service

MPUSD Preschool Meal Service: Due to the unexpected closure of our preschools, MPUSD wants to ensure our preschool children have access to food during the two-week closure. (Our TK-12 programs are observing their regularly scheduled Spring Break. We will continue to monitor the situation beyond Spring Break and address accommodations as needed for TK-12 programs.)

Principal's Message

Welcome to MLK School of the Arts, where our mission to is empower students to cultivate a passion for learning through the arts.

We are proud to be a partner in the Turnaround Arts program, a network of schools across the nation dedicated to ensuring all children have access to the arts.  At MLK SOA, every student receives dedicated arts instruction from a Visual Arts Specialist and Music Specialist every week in addition to the arts-integrated curriculum in their classroom. We practice mindfulness and promote the 5 qualities of the Artist Profile: Proud, Creative, Caring, Inquisitive, and Open-Minded. Through our community partnerships with local arts organizations, our students engage in Artist Residencies with learning opportunities resulting from collaborations between local artists and their teacher.

We're driven to provide the best educational experience for your child possible and look forward to welcoming you for a visit to our School of the Arts soon.
